I’ve always had a passion for photography and so I decided to do a shoot with the team at Chris Connelly Photography.
When I saw that there were angel wings available to be used in photos, I opened up about my experience with child loss. It’s a very touchy subject for some people but I wanted others to understand that it should still be something that’s given awareness because so many women stay quiet about it. So, in my session with the team, I decided that I wanted to open up about my story of being an angel mom to infant twins. And in my experience with Chris and the team, I found a positive way of expressing my story and a memory I will never forget.
Note from Chris Connelly: Working with Kayla was a truly powerful experience when she shared why she wanted to create images with our angel wings, my heart hurt, and my team’s heart hurt. Ashely, my assistant and close friend, is the mom of a beautiful little girl, and I am a proud father of three, and a grandfather. Kayla told us her story, saw our hearts, and then made sure we understood that she chose not to bury herself in the pain, but honor the memory of her children every year.
Kayla – thank you for your trust and your spirit, and for the honor of being able to create these images for you. I too will never forget.
HerStory is a blog written by our clients with images they chose to share from their session: what led them to do a photoshoot, how the session made them feel, and how they feel about it now. We have worked with hundreds of clients, and each of their stories teaches us something about ourselves. –Chris Connelly Photography
